Bread & Salt

Bread and salt - a symbol of greeting, acceptance and peace - distributed with a message of peace to 50 families each week over the span of 6 weeks throughout the months of March, April & May, only to reach 300 families by the end of the initiative.

Home Blessings

Initiative consists of entertaining and spending some quality time with elderly women along with distributing gift baskets prepared by the group (embroidered towels, hand cream, perfume, hair brushes, etc.)...

Ajyal ALarab

Participants built a public library and managed to get books for adults and children, in order to help those who don’t have the luxury to buy a book to have access to different types of books.

Side by Side

Present Media training & create a Facebook page introducing concerns and aspirations of both the Lebanese & Syrian communities which also aims at reducing tension and thus contributing in the social peace process in order to empower Lebanese & Syrian youth to communicate without prejudice.

After attending a social peace workshop implemented by House of Peace, the Participants perceptions

on how to interact with their community have changed, and decided to build a hall, that will gather all

their lovely neighbors from all nationalities under one roof...

After successfully attending and executing an SPW 1. The participants joined hands again and took an

SPW 2 this time, and executed a much more complicated initiative....

Community Day

The Community Day with INTERSOS in collaboration with Jabal El Sheikh Municipalities Federation was held in Rashaya. It assisted the local communities to touch base with their neighboring societies/communities, and to develop their integration methodology accordingly.

Plant of Love

The participants chose 5 Lebanese schools - public and private - to show them gratitude for being supportive throughout the crisis and enrolling Syrian refugee children with lower tuition fee. They distributed arrangements that were packaged by the participants.

A group of 12 women from our Action Aid workshop, had dedicated their efforts in preparing Olive provision jars (1kg each) and distributed them onto neighbours of all national backgrounds.

Recycling

After attending a social peace workshop conducted by House of Peace, participants' perceptions of how to interact with their community changed. They decided to set up a workshop on recycling and hygiene for Lebanese and Syrian children. ..
